Steven Jobs Ethan Hall

Steven Jobs was born on February 24, 1955. Jobs was adopted close after birth, his adopted parents are Clara and Paul. They lived in Mountain View in California's Silicone Valley. When he was little, he and his dad worked on electronics in their garage. In elementary school he was a prankster. One time his fourth grade teacher bribed him to study. Even though he wasn't good in school, he tested so high in jobs he could skip to high school. But his parents said no. When Steven was in high school, he spent his free time at Hewlett-Packard, a computer club. There he became friends with Steve Wozniak, a brilliant computer engineer. Jobs enrolled at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, but he dropped out after the first semester. Then Jobs designed video games with Atari in 1974. A couple of months later he left Atari to go to India. When he was 21, he and Steve Wozniak created Apple computers. The Apple 1, first model, earned them 774,000 dollars. Three years after the Apple 2 came out, they made 139 million dollars. On the first day of trading, Apple computers became a publicly traded company with a market value of 1.2 billion dollars. Jobs chose John Skully of Pepsi to be the Apple president. In 1984, IBM/PC was dominating computers. Then Apple released there new computer, the Macintosh, but still they were behind IBM/PC. Steven Jobs was hurting the company, so Apple fired him. Jobs purchased an animation company from George Lucas which later became Pixar. Pixar made Disney movies such as Toy Story, The Incredibles, and Finding Nemo. Apple eventualy bought the company for 429 million in 1997. Also Jobs became Apples CEO in the same year. In 2003 they found Jobs had a rare form o pancreatic cancer. In 2004 they sucessfully had surgery on his tumor. Apple made revolutionly products such as iPod,Macbook Air, and iPhone.
