Steve Jobs Catherine Armstrong
Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955. At a very young age he was put up for adoption ,and adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs. He always had a hard time in school even though he was very smart. After high school, he went to Reed College, and dropped out after only six months. In 1964 he became a video game designer. Jobs was 21 when he and Steve Wozniak created apple. They had to sell Wozniak's calculator and Jobs's car to get the money to start apple in the Jobs family's garage. They worked very hard and made the technology smaller, cheaper, and accessible to the average person. IBM soon passed apple sales and began the competition. In 1984 apple released Macintosh but it couldn't compete. Steve Jobs resigned from apple ,and he created Pixar working with and eventually merging with Walt Disney. In 1997 Jobs returned to be apple's CEO. Jobs brought apple back and made products such as iMac and with really cool designs he brought their sales back up. In 2003 Jobs discovered he had a tumor ,but postponed the surgery for as long as he could. Then in 2004 he had the surgery and the tumor was successfully removed. Recently apple has created mind blowing products such as the ipod, iphone, ipad, and Macbook Air. Apple was rated No. 1 in America's Most Admired Companies. Steve Jobs is truely inspirational because he made such a huge and successful company without even finishing college.
